John Tomlinson celebrated the Fourth of July in style, winning a stars-and-stripes jersey at the USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships in Carson, Calif. Tomlinson, 16, won Saturday's 17-18 scratch race to earn his first national championship. After joining XXX Racing-AthletiCo as a 13-year-old in 2006, he is now Cat 2 on the road and the track and a member of the team's Elite Development Program. Next week he'll compete in the Tour of the Red River Gorge, a UCI-sanctioned stage race.
