2019 California Spring Training Camp (aka SLO Camp)
By Kevin O'Neill | Jan 13, 2019
2019 California Spring Training Camp (aka SLO Camp) dates are set!
When: Friday, March 1st, through Saturday, March 9th, 2019.Where: San Luis Obispo (SLO) - Central Coast California
Changes for 2019:
- All current team members AND team alumni are invited - a 20th Anniversary team reunion of sorts at SLO Camp!
- We are taking steps to try to lower the barriers for team members and alumni to join us at SLO Camp. An 8-day training camp with climbing can be intimidating for some, and although we always have shorter ride options on our longer days, we are also adding additional ride support for those who may not be able to keep up with the faster group but still want full days of riding.
- Teammates please fill out the Registration From (linked in the forum thread) by Friday, Nov. 16th, end of day. Team alumni (with no access to the team forum) please email Randy Warren at randy@warrencycling.com and Kevin ONeill at koneill@xxxracing.org for a link to the Registration Form.
As we take time to celebrate xXx Racing’s 20th anniversary, we invite all current members AND alumni to join us in an annual celebration of cycling on California’s beautiful Central Coast with SLO Camp 2019! For many team members, both present and past, SLO Camp is one of the most meaningful and memorable parts of their xXx Racing experience. For some, SLO Camp has been the impetus to be more involved in xXx Racing, for some it was their primary involvement with the team. For all, it is a glorious week of riding in one of the best places on earth with amazing teammates and just having FUN!
Organized and managed by longtime team member and USA Cycling Level 1 *D Coach, Randy Warren of Warren Cycling, we produce this camp at an unbelievable price, and the team bonding that takes place is something that can't be replicated. The cost will ultimately depend on how many people attend the camp (as we split costs), but this is a great trip and a great value. Similar camps held by other organizations/companies are about 3x more costly. The price will include pretty much everything including lodging (8 nights), airport transportation, ride SAG support, 1 massage, and most food (including all breakfasts, 5 dinners, and daily post-ride recovery sandwiches). Airfare is additional. Right now the recommended team flight on Southwest Airlines from Midway to LAX is approximately $320. Plan now to be a part of this xXx Racing team tradition during our 20th Anniversary Celebration.
You will enhance your riding experience and better understand why you love to ride your bike and how that makes your life better. SLO is a wonderful place to be and to ride your bicycle for 8 days after a long Chicago winter. Some might say that it is a little slice of heaven (SLO has actually been named one of the Happiest Places on Earth)!
