2022 Season Preview
We are looking forward to a full season of bike racing, clinics, practice cirts, camps, team rides, and fun rides in 2022. Keep reading for a look ahead at the upcoming 2022 season for XXX Racing and for some key races and rides in Chicagoland and the Midwest.
Schedule for XXX Racing-Athletico rides, races, events, clinics, and camps:- January thru March - Scroll down to the next section for info on e-racing in the Zwift Racing League and the Echelon Racing League (on the RGT Cycling platform)
- January thru March - Saturday Team Rides on Zwift (outdoor rides are still held year-round)
- February 7 - February Team Meeting
- 2022 Team Election
- Presentation from teammate Dana Kotler and Athletico's Sarah Rice, a PT and retired Cat 1 cyclist, on their research of cyclists and brain injuries after crashes and Athletico's new concussion baseline testing protocol, ImPACT
- February 27 - Team Party 2021 & Team Awards
- 2021 End-of-season party and team awards

- March 25 thru April 2 - XXX Racing-Athletico Spring Training Camp, a.k.a. SLO Camp
- Mid/late April thru July/August (Tuesday evenings) - XXX Racing-Athletico LaBagh Practice Crit Series. Exact opening date to be confirmed, but we typically start the week after the Half Acre Cycling Skyway Practice Crit Series.
- May 1 - XXX Racing-Athletico Lincoln Park Criterium (Alternate date: May 21st/22nd. Date to be confirmed within the next two weeks.)
- Early May - Fundamental Track Cycling Clinic by Northbrook Cycling Committee (exact date to be confirmed)
- XXX Racing will subsidize the registration cost for teammates to attend this clinic
- May 7 - Bear 100 (XXX Racing-Athletico Donut Development Program event)
- May 28-30 (tentative) - XXX Racing-Athletico Women's Camp (exact dates to be confirmed)
- Mid/late August (or early September) - XXX Racing-Athletico Cyclocross Clinic
- August 28 (tentative) - XXX Racing-Athletico Relay Cross (psssst... #crossiscoming)
- Mid/late September - XXX Racing-Athletico/Chicago Cyclocross Cup (CCC) Series, Race #1 (exact date to be determined by CCC)

- January and February - Echelon Racing League (ERL) on RGT Cycling platform (respond to this email if you are interested in racing). You do not have to commit to every race in the series.
- Community Race Series - open to all
- Pro Race Series Teammate, coach, and team manager, Chris Navin, and Women's series leader, Jaquie Godbe, are looking for women and men to join our teams.
- January thru March - Zwift Racing League (ZRL)
- Tuesday evenings with our XXX Racing/Chicago Virtual Cyclists (CVC) composite teams, Chicago Stars (Category A/B) and Chicago Flyers (Category C/D)
- Teammate, coach, and team manager, Chris Navin, can add riders to our teams at any point during the season. Respond to this email if you are interested in racing. You do not have to race every Tuesday.
- March 19 and 20 - Tour of St. Louis Omnium (1 TT and 2 crits)
- March 26 - Barry Roubaix gravel race
- April 2 - Rough Road 100 road/gravel race and gran fondo
- April 3 & April 10 - Kenosha Velosport Spring Training Criterium Race Series
- Early/mid April - Skyway Practice Crit Series by Half Acre Cycling (exact dates to be confirmed)
- Mid/late April thru July/August (Tuesday evenings) - XXX Racing-Athletico LaBagh Practice Crit Series. Exact opening date to be confirmed, but we typically start the week after the Half Acre Cycling Skyway Practice Crit Series.
- Early/mid May - Monsters of the Midway Criterium (exact date to be confirmed). University of Chicago Velo Club has indicated that it intends to host their criterium in 2022!
- May 1 - XXX Racing-Athletico Lincoln Park Criterium (Alternate date: May 21st/22nd. Date to be confirmed within the next two weeks.)
- May 6 thru May 8 - La Crosse Omium Stage Race (TT, road race, criterium) in La Crosse, WI
- May 7 - Region Riot Criterium by Region Racing, Hammond, IN
- May 14 or 15 - PSIMET Fox River Grove Crit (climbers rejoice!)
- PSIMET has not picked an exact date but has confirmed the race will happen
- May 21 and 22 - Joe Martin Stage Race (TT, road race, criterium) in Fayetteville, AR
- May 27 thru May 30 - Memorial Day Weekend Bicycle Races
- Snake Alley Criterium - Friday and Saturday
- Melon City Criterium - Sunday
- Kwik Star Criterium - Monday
- May 28 thru May 30 - ABD Cycling Masters Memorial Day Weekend Criterium Series (no further info available)
- May 29 - Ride Ten Thousand
- Early June - Cobb Park Criterium (exact date TBD)
- Late June - Tour of America’s Dairyland (exact dates TBD)
- July 22–31 - Intelligentsia Cup
- Mid August - Little Apple gravel race and gran fondo by South Chicago Wheelmen (exact date to be confirmed)
- August 28 (tentative) - XXX Racing-Athletico Relay Cross (psssst... #crossiscoming)
- September 2 thru September 5 - Gateway Cup criterium series (St. Louis)
- Mid/late September - XXX Racing-Athletico/Chicago Cyclocross Cup (CCC) Series, Race #1 (exact date to be determined by CCC)
- Late September - ABD Cycling Fall Fling Series (criteriums and time trial)
- Typically held over the last two weekends in September
- March thru October - Michigan Gravel Race Series
- April thru September - Mid-America Time Trial Series (Illinois/Wisconsin)
